BIOGRAPHY

CEO/Producer/Composer, Carmine Gonzalez
opens up about his passion for producing new artists, performing on stage and the ever evolving  music industry.

Carmine was raised in a home that had music playing 24/7. . His Father was a DooWoop Singer in the 1950's, signed to Roulette Records, witnessed first hand, the  trials and tribulations of the seedy world of the Music Industry. He never stopped loving music and stayed close to music as a Personal Bodyguard in the 1960's to such iconic artists of the time as, Tito Puente, Celia Cruz, La Lupe, and Ray Baretto . Sharing stories of performances of the NYC Music scene in the mid to late sixties unlocked many inside secrets to the working of the music business and the success and failures that came with the fame. Needless to say, music and the music indusry was regularly discussed subject and encouraged in the house from a very young age.

His appreciation for the particular instrument of Bass began the first time he heard the track Rio from Duran Duran. John Taylor's infusion of Punk Rock, with a splash of Pop and Funk had a huge influence on him. Gathering as much knowledge of how Taylor became the bassist he was, became a personal lesson of sorts. It was crucial in his own development to study the influences of the artists, and the influences of those artists. Understanding and forming an appreciation of these artists, meant understanding the history of the business and his admiration of music became a way of life.

“Music is everywhere”, “It is a stitched part of every memory, be it good, bad or indifferent, it holds a benchmark to significant moments in our lives”, said Carmine. “ I can recall specific moments in my life where a certain song would trigger that memory”, he stated. He noted, that at some point in the last 15 years, that has stopped. Not because he stopped following music, but because current Music has
become less memorable. The industry, flooded  with (One Hit Wonders), coming and going constantly, continues to steal the spotlight from some really talented people. He recalls  Slash of Guns and Roses interview in an interview as stating, “One of the biggest problems with industry today is all the high profile celebrities stealing the spotlight with nothing to promote, from some great artists. It is a harsh reality that shock value of the actions of less talented artists, has taken the front page away from someone that spends 9 months in the studio and on the road, mastering their craft to create a musical piece of art.

Under his untiring influence and leadership, Carmine
has created a brand built on the devotion of an immeasurable love for music and the creative process behind making music. L4WP is determined to take the knowledge of all of aspects of music, and create a powerhouse brand with family of talented musicians and artists, going back to the days of Motown, Capitol and Atlantic. The days where chances were taken to bring something new and different to the masses and help “Create Their Own Path”.
